Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Georgia

My son, a juvenile. has been charged with burglary and theft by receiving. We have been approved for a Public Defender; however, we have not spoken to her and his court date is Monday, 3/29/10. Another young man was with him and has said that my son did the burglary and yes my son has said the complete opposite. The other young man is not detained but my son is. The court is wanting to declase him a DF. I wanted to know if it is possible to get the case rescheduled since we have not spoken with the attorney and will it be possible to ask that he serves 6-9mos in a boot camp or another program for juvenile offenders.
