Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
I applied for another position at my current job. I informed my supervisor of this. I had an interview for the job with the recruiter that including screening, qualifications and interview questions. She passed my info to hiring mgr for review. I was moved to the next round to be interviewed. Out of the blue, I get a final written warning for job performance when there is no real issue. My interview is two days later. The next day the recruiter wanted to speak with me. She tells me that she made a mistake and she just have been informed that I can't apply to the job because I been there less than a year. She was told to tell me a lie because the SVP of HR made an annoucement about new positions opening in the future and all employees are encouraged to apply regardless of their years of service. This is a form of retaliation. I want to know do I have a case and can I file a lawsuit?

There is no way to answer, because you did not tell us the basis for your "retaliation" claim. Retaliation for what? There is no general right or entitlement to employment (or promotions, etc.) and employees can be terminated for any or no reason ) with few exceptions for unlawful discrimination). You may disagree with the way things are being handled, and maybe you are correct, but that does not raise a legal issue. The "retaliation" has to be based on an unlawful basis (race, gender, age, etc.).
