Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
I was arrested and sentenced to serve 10 days for 2yr old traffic tickets that eventually turned into the suspension of my drivers license and failure to appear warrants. It was documented and determined in court that none of the signatures matched and all the tickets were not mine and had been fraudgently put in my name by someone else that had been pulled over. Upon my release I was able to return to work without a problem because I had documentation detailing the incident. However 2wks after I had returned I made my DM aware of my pregnancy and was terminated with my arrest as the excuse. I was told I would not be eligible for unemployment due to job abandonment. Should I pursue legal action?

A case for what? Unemployment, or possible unlawful termination? If the former, you can seek unemployment and if they contest it you can go to a hearing. You won't know until you try, and certainly do not have a legal action until then. If the latter, much more information and details are necessary. The question is why they really terminated you (which we obviously do not know beyond what you say) and what laws may apply to the company. For that, you need to see a lawyer who primarily handles employment discrimination matters (not just lawyers who solicit you, or claim to handle this and many other kinds of cases). You should have no problem meeting with a lawyer in your area, and discussing the facts and the possible downside for filing a claim. As there are strict deadlines, you should think about it sooner and later.
