Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Do I have a case?

My employer found out I was applying for a job with one of our suppliers. My employer called the CEO of the supplier and told them NOT to hire me, that the positive business relationship they currently enjoy could be compromised if they hired me.

I am more qualified than any other applicant for this new job. I want this job more than anything. It is my DREAM job. If I don't get the job, do I have grounds for a lawsuit?

On a peronal note, how do I go to work and face these people? I sure don't want to work for them now!

Thanks!

Re: Do I have a case?

It sounds like your employer was expressing his/her dissatisfaction with the other company hiring away employees. There is generally nothing wrong with that - it is a concern within many industries and businesses. Conversely, the other company certainly can make their own decisions, but that decision may be to not harm their current business relationship with your current employer. There is a line that can be crossed (false statements about you, etc.), but it appears that is not the case.
