Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
Debarred Contractor based on suspicion
As the contractor at one of the client place and I am allowed to use their gym facility. Somebody wrist watch got stolen (on Tuesday 24th Mar 2009) from the gym and as I was the immediate user of the treadmill (this is what Security saw in the security video) Client's security assumed that I have picked up that watch. I can 100% swear on my family that I didnt done anything . I am guessing that as I carry my cellphone (since my wife was pregnant and now we have a baby ; to take an immediate call) during my workout and running, they might have seen me picking the cellphone from the treadmill. Company's security suspects that I am the one who picked up the watch and asked me not to come to office on monday until i hear from HR or them as they are doing further investigation. All this was communicate to me verbally via my Senior Manager on friday. Later on when I went to checked my email on friday evening and to update my timesheet, I found client has revoked my rights to login on company network without involving me into any discussion or by mean of any written communication. I felt very embarrassed with all this happening where I stand totally innocent. Can they debarred me like this?

Re: Debarred Contractor based on suspicion
You say you are a contractor. No one here knows the terms of any contract and you did not state what they are. Read the contracts to see what they say about termination of the contract. As you are not an employee, this it is highly probable your issue is not a "labor and employment" issue.
