Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
disapline and wages
A fellow employee did not show up for an unpaid ''mandatory'' meeting. the co-worker was written up and was told that they would be receiving a commision rate lower than the normal rate, due to them not being at the meeting.is this legal and can this employee do something about this. thank-you.

Re: disapline and wages
If the employee is an exempt employee, the company was authorized to make it an unpaid meeting. If an employee did not attend the meeting, the company would be authorized to reduce the employee's commission as a disciplinary action.
