Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
Discrimination
I was working for a company that fired me after knowing that I was pregnant. I was fired for being late to work after I received a final warning. Two other employees that worked in the same department as me where also given a final warning for attendance and are still employeed at this company. And I know that these two employees have been absent or late since then. Do I have a case of discrimination?

Re: Discrimination
You might have a claim for discrimination, depending on a host of factors. Examples include whether there were aggravating circumstances in your case and mitigating circumstances as to others, what your relative job performance was, when did you tell the company about your pregnancy, what kind of an employee were you, whether the company had policies regarding tardiness, etc. I would suggest that you schedule a meeting with an attorney to see if you might have a claim. You may file a claim with the EEOC which will perform some type of investigation for you. (Sometimes they do a good job of investigating, and sometimes they do not.) Good luck!
The foregoing is general information only, not specific legal advice. No attorney/client relationship has been created or should be implied. I would recommend that you speak with an attorney of your choosing before taking legal action.
