Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Employee Privacy Violation

Can [my employer] legally provide personal information regarding my scheduling to non-employees/persons not employed by [my employer] without my personal consent? The situation is as follows: [My mother] went to my job and requested a copy of my schedule for her own records. I am over 18 and feel that this was wrong of my manager to release to her as I would never personally consent to such information about my work being openly distributed. Do I have any rights? I have been working with the company for over 1 month. I am paid on an hourly basis via weekly checks. This has affected my personal life considerably and I consider this to be a great inconvenience. Is there anything I can do?

Re: Employee Privacy Violation

Discuss it with the employer and, probably more important, your mother. It was your (AND the employer's) schedule - not your private, personal information being "openly distributed." It is probably something to get over, rather than make it an issue with the employer.
