Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
False reasons for firing on sep notice
I've been a loyal pt time employee 3 years. Excellent reviews. Moved into a similar dept.Had a great audit as well. Recently fired during what I thought was to be my review/interview for FT position. An intern is now there working for pennies. Separation notice I received from the state has untrue statements.''Not able to perform duties to a level of standard'', ''terminated after several attempts to improve performance failed''. How does this affect future employment?
As for supervisor's ''attempts'', he avoided me if anything. I made more attempts than him.I loved this job.I never got my performance review due in April.Reminded him twice. Finally got an apt which he cancelled.
I did all the job requirements except maintaining returning client base.He said at a staff meeting, my 8 hrs a wk justifies a difficult task in that regard. Later denied that and other things at my firing.Myself (and probably other coworkers) never know our percentage.I just started this position in Feb.''without proper training'' (he said this)I had always got along great w him and staff. He knews I needed a FT job! I turned one down assuming I would have the new FT opening. No warning. Just strung along and betrayed. Blind sighted. We have to sell our home.

Re: False reasons for firing on sep notice
It may affect future employment in many ways. Some employers inquire into former jobs and look to see if you were terminated and for what reason.
