Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

family medical leave act

Is it lawful for an employer to terminate an employee at the end of their 12 week leave, while the employee is still being treated for the medical condition they are on leave for? With the employee loosing insurance coverage, and not allowing the employee to use or be paid for all available acrued sick time.

There are many factors that an attorney will need to evaluate in order to determine whether you may be eligible to try to seek recovery from your employer. You should consider hiring an attorney to do a case evaluation without delay because some of the theories of recovery carry a very short statute of limitations. Call me if lyou are interested in pursuing this.

As stated, it may be wise to have a lawyer look over it. Therer are many lawyers who specialize in the area and can provide good advice, as opposed to lawyers who dabble or do work in everything, or who seek work in every area of law. Get referrals from other lawyers for a specialist.
