Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Fired without reason

I was just terminated today without reasoning. I was given a document stating that I was terminated effective immediately and was asked to leave the premises. I was not allowed to get my belongings. It is stated in the document that I will have to make an appointment in order to pick up my belongings. I was never told anything on the nature of being terminated and was asked to do paper work and invoices for the company. After my work was done,I was asked to go outside. I was then produced with this document to be signed and asked to leave. The document said that for good cause I was being terminated. The cause is not listed on the document nor is the name of the lawyer that it was filed under. No letter head was produced stating that this was an actual legal document. What can I do about this problem and how do I go about this legally?

Re: Fired without reason

If you are an "at-will" employee, i.e. your employment is not for a set period of time, than you can be terminated for no reason, or for any reason that is not discriminatory. So, unless they had a discriminatory purpose in terminating your employment, you have no real recourse. I don't think I understand the rest of your question.
