Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Fired Unfairly

I was hired on by this co while temping & I made it clear on hire that I had no training in this field and they assured me I would get proper training.

There was no formal training provided to me and I kept asking them I needed it, while at the same time, they gave me warnings about errors I was making.

Last month, there were new hires brought in and formal training was provided to them in same building but I was still told there was no formal training available.

Eight months later, I was fired on grounds of too many errors but when I asked her to show me proof, she couldn't provide it to me, telling me, I hope I have another job lined up because she felt bad I was a single mother.

There are many other issues I can't get into here, one that I am a whistleblower and had complained about air/water quality and training before my firing which I feel all cintributed to her getting rid of me.

OCC is also involved.

I claimed unemployment and feel I won't get it from them. Won't know until later this week.

Can I sue this company?

Re: Fired Unfairly

i practice in florida, so you may need a georgia lawyer.

your case sounds interesting

are you close to tallahassee?

did this happen in georgia or in florida?

remember there are all sorts of fed. laws protecting whistleblowers.

if you have a qui tam aspect to this matter (false claim made on the gov. by a fed. contractor) you may have a great case.
