Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I know that GA is abut i had a co-worker last year that was fired for theft and i was told that if i tell them " what was going on" i could stay but if not i would have to go too..I denied any knowledge of that , and i was let go. I thought it was over with after that , but i was called back to the office ( by the way i worked at an apartment complex, where my pay included free rent, utilities and $800 a month pay and me and my co-worker were accused of taking almost $100000 in an 18 month period)and i was told that i had 1 week to pay myrent or vacate my unit, i have 2 children and both were impossible. but i ended up moving, because I was told every little thing they find wrong with my apartment old or not would be sent to collections :) . I was then called to the police station and questioned to death, which i had no problem with, and i was asked to do a polygragh , and i agreed. my co-worker passed the polygragh and i was told there was NO NEED to do mine, due to the fact of NO EVIDENCE.I was NEVER arrested and there were no charge when I was indicted into the grand jury and was granted a no bail/found innocent ( Im not sure if that is the correct term)because of course i am INNOCENT . and this whole process took a year..in that year i lost my home, took my children out a school they loved , had to file bankruptcy, because i was DENIED unemployment, and at the time my previous was coming up with off the wall crap from b4 i was hired to make sure i WAS denied , and my marriage about fell apart, all of this because i wouldn't/ couldnt tattle on a coworker. i have been told my MANY people to file a civil suit for wrongful terminationn " at will " state / defamation of character punitive damages/ pain and suffering , and try to get a year of pay and/ or my denied unemployment. I feel like i was done so wrong. I have been a complete mess for a year with depression , and i cant get another job because of it. what can i do?

..I hope i got most of the information here..but i will say again ,that i was NEVER arrested or charges with a crime. any warrants that my employer wanted to file were DENIED for NO evidence. I just want my life back

Your new post adds nothing to the issue of the employer's right to terminate you for any or no reason (and your post actually provides a VERY good reason for your termination), or the apropriate procedures for the unemployment compensation (which is not to let it go, then try to sue later). Are those "many people" who tell you to sue lawyers? Do you really think that you can refuse to cooperate with your EMPLOYER, who signs your checks, and be surprised you are fired? That is a fantasy. Most employers will fire someone who refuses to cooperate with them, and protect others, over some "tattling" nonsense. You made the choice - friend or the job.

As far as defamation, again, we don't know any details whatsoever of what the employer did or said to anyone in law enforcement, so no one can tell you if you have a case for defamation or wrongful prosecution, but from your post you were not even prosecuted that takes care of that issue.

Beyond this, posting again here won't help you. You don't have issues that are resolved on a few sentences of your side of a story. Let it go and rebuild your life, or sit down with a lawyer in person and he/she can explain it all.
