Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
Hi,
I am trying to get some legal information on a friend that has been indefinatley suspended from his job at a wal-mart store. He has worked there for several years full time, and was arrested under the charge of child molestation. It was a non-violent crime and he pled guilty and got the first offenders. Unfortunatley he was placed on the Georgia sexual offenders list online. A co-worker happened to see him on this list and alerted the management at wal-mart, and was suspended after given paperwork. They also had him write a statement and did not give the paperwork to him that states he did not have to "confess" this to them until after he had wrote his statement. It has been 3 weeks, without any kind of pay, since he has been suspended and wal-mart management has yet to give him any information on whether they have terminated him or when he can come back to work. Any information on this matter would be helpful.
Thank You

No one here can tell you what the employer is thinking or doing. That is a question for them. Your friend may also seek unemployment benefits if he thinks he has been terminated. Otherwise, what is the legal question?
