Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
I was hired by my friend to help with a project (they were project manager). We knew each other from college. We agreed that I would stay at her home and she would provide transportation to the work place for the duration of this temp job. It was supposed to last 2 weeks. Then she got arrested for child endangerment. While en route to the police station, she asked me to lie to the police for her. I didn't lie to them, but refused to make a statement. Because she asked me to lie, it became impossible to stay with and work for her, due to the multiple ethical transgressions this entire episode created. I want my travel expenses reimbursed and want to know what my legal recourse is. This occurred in the state of Georgia, but I'm traveled there from Florida.

You can come to Georgia a couple more times to sue her in small claims, incurring more and more travel charges. If you win, you then have to try to collect. Many people would be very, very happy to leave this entire situation behind and move on.
