Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
My husband was fired yesterday fro self defense when a co-worker attacked him, they both were fired.I am very upset looking for any answers.knowing the employer cant go by hear-say but there was witnesses that seen the fight occur and know my husband was self defending himself, neither employee was asked what happened,This confuses me because i thought being self defensive was ok even in a work place,I know and have researched the zero tolerance law and understand it,And i have been told this might be a good unemployment case,But the employer has said they don't give separation notices is this right? is there any legal advice i can get,my husband has marks and bruises from this incident could this be taken in further?

This has been asked and answered before. You were told about having no general right to employment in Georgia. "Self defense" is an issue for a criminal charge - it has nothing to do with employment. Makrs and bruises from a fight is not an employment issue - call the police for that. As far as unemployment, the obvious place to ask is the local Unemployment Office.
