Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Job Termination

I was recently laid off by my

employer. Three weeks previously,

my employer created a new

position and moved me into it.

They then promoted another

employee to my old position at a

much low salary. I trained this

employee. They then terminated

me due to elimination of the

position they had just created for

me. What is the legality of this?

The position existed for three

weeks and was eliminated. I know

an employer cannot terminate due

to age and in-turn salary, but I feel

they tried circumventing this by

creating a fake position in order to

move me and eliminate me.

Re: Job Termination

You are asking for a guess as to why you were terminated (and an assumption the reason given was not the real reason). You mention age, but provide no facts (not even your age). A finding of unlawful discrimination takes much more than a "feeling."
