Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

are non-compete disclaimers in the state of georgia legal in every circumstance?

Are non-compete disclaimers in the state of Georgia legal. I signed a contract that has a non-compete disclaimer which specify me not providing service, working with or obtaining my own contract for one full year after my contract has expired. The program that I sub-contract with is awarded total funding through the federal government. If I do go out and secure my own contract before my non-compete disclaimer has expired, will the CEO of the company I'm providing sub-contract services for be able to sue me?

Non-compete clauses are generally valid, if limited in scope. I'd have to read the exact wording to answer your question. The time to ask is always before you sign, but before you do anything now, you need to see a lawyer to see what limits you may have placed on yourself.

Non-competes are generally valid. If you want to know whether your contract is enforceable, you need to have it reviewed by a lawyer. You raise questions that should have been asked and answered before you signed and agreed to the terms of the contract.
