Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I was offered a job contingent on a criminal background check, but told the employer upfront that I had a misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charge and they told me they weren't worried about that. I put in my two week notice at my present employer and at the end of the first day of employment with the new company, they tell me that because of my background check that they had ran 2 weeks prior, they would not be able to continue employment with me. They received my consent to a criminal background check 2 and a half weeks prior along with an explanation of the misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charge and the recruiter told me they weren't worried aabout that, that they have had much worse. Fast forward two weeks and I go through the first day of training only to be told that they will not continure employment with me due to that. Do I have any legal recourse?

There is generally no right or entitlement to any job, and absent a contract they likely could have terminated you for any or no reason at all (with few exceptions). Here, they had a reason whether or not you agree. Quitting a job and going to another is a risk for anyone unless they have a contract giving them some security at the new job.
