Overtime

Do employers have a legal right to force an exempt employee to choose between 60+ hour work weeks or termination? What options/rights do employees have (besides leaving)?

In Georgia, adults have no maximum hours. For employees who are not exempt from overtime, time and a half must be paid for hours worked over 40 in a week, in most cases. There may be limits on the number of hours worked in a collective bargaining agreement in a union setting, but Georgia and federal law do not prohibit long hours.
