Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Payroll

I left a job for a better one, was an exempt employee and did not fill out a time sheet. After I left, I they company continued to put payroll through direct deposit in my account. this happened three times, and I called to let them know i was no longer employed there. They now want repayment. Do I have to repay them? I did not fill out anything for the payroll, gave them written notice of my resignation and did call to let them know not to pay me. Please let me know how to proceed.

Re: Payroll

The fact that they made a mistake does not make it your money. The can file suit and obtain a judgment against you - just as you could if the salary mistake had been in their favor. Pay them their money back, and move on and avoid any future problems.
