Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
Perfect employment for 19 yrs.; fired after 3-mo. FMLA
Began w/this company in personnel when 1st opened; then offered job in mfg. Had huge layoff. Ex-supv took early retirement & gave me raise to return to 1st job. On that job cpl. mos.;while on vac. rec'd call offering me job in Cust. Svc. I took it. Had 5 separate supv. in CSV & have perf reviews rating me EXCELLENT ea yr. I'm a go-getter, always commended for it, told I was team player, led by example, analytical, I WAS ''CSV'', etc. Cpl yrs. ago felt myself slipping; no energy, 24-7 headaches, aches/pains. Diagnosed Chronic Fatigue/Fibro. On FMLA 10/13. Rec'd ltr if I didn't return by 1/16 would be vol resign. Returned. (New test 5 mo. after return showed Lyme/RMSF).On 2nd day supv. began picking on me(for entire yr).I wouldn't quit so Jan. 6 terminated b/c of unsatis work. Offered sev pkg not to sue, etc. Why sev pkg if work unsatis?Didn't return papers. Understood whole picture, being on project team for new software in '99. Some days on phone w/co personnel 1/2 day.Always did paperwork & filing.Probably worked 6-7 hrs. OT ea wk since there.Cust more important than filing;do that after 5:00.Didn't ask/care about OT.Just job satis. Supv felt threatened by me. Depts called me on everything. Is this case to sue or forget? Thanks!
