Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Promotion

I have recently applied for a management position with the company I've been with for a little more than a year. Out of three candidates only two of us met the minimum requirements posted on the job description. The individual with the least amount or let's say no experience got the job. This same individual after receiving the position omitted to being guaranteed the position and being prepped with interview questions 2 weeks before the interviews took place. Is there anything that covers this under any labor law?

Re: Promotion

Congress has, quite wisely, chosen to stay out of most day to day internal management decisions including hiring, firing, promotions. As employment is generally at-will, promotions are likewise left to the management. Exceptions would include the terms of any contracts between the parties, or employee handbooks that could rise to the level of contracts. There are also laws that cover limited categories of discrimination, not raised by your post.
