Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
how can i protect myself
My supervisor has made derogatory sexual comments towards me. Also a female who is my subordinate has made physical threats toward me and cursed me out when I have directed her to do something. These things were witnessed by the supervisor and others but the supervisor has done nothing to correct her because he is in a relationship with her. I went to the manager which in turn was ready to write me up because this supervisor told him that I was causing problems. This female told the manager I harassed her and that I steal and use drugs. So I filed harassment charges against them both with upper management. Now no one will tell me the findings of the investigation. But management has promised me that I will not be subjected to hostile treatment anymore. The only changes that have been made was to my Schedule, the weekends that I have waited all year to get have been taken away, no one elses days off have been changed. They have put me under another supervisor to ''watch out for me'' as put by my manager. The female subordinate is now spreading rumers that I am crazy and making jokes with other co-workers about I could not prove anyone was harassing me. This has effected my health and makes me depressed to go to work

Re: how can i protect myself
You may be able to pursue this matter. The first step would be to file something called a "charge" with the EEOC. The EEOC will schedule a mediation meeting with the employer. You do not need an attorney to work with you on this matter but it is a wise idea to have one to ensure that your rights are protected. Feel free to contact via telephone or e-mail.
