Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

recently was charged for Violation of Georgia Employment Security Law OCGA 34-8-256. I had no idea that they had had a Grand Jury Indictment and warrant out for me and we had an accident and I was hauled off to jail. I was held without bond until they had the first hearing which was a bond hearing. I was entitled to bond and my husband eventually bonded me out of jail. All in All I was in jail for 10 days. At the bond hearing the DA offered me a plea agreement if I wanted to settle right there. I did not. But the agreement was 90-120 days confinement and 5 years probation. I read the statue and that is the maximum punishment. I am also entitled to the first offender act. My question is this, I am a school teacher. Can my jail time be reduced? Do I have to do any more jail time? 5 years probation is long. As a teacher will I be entitled to go back to work? Will I have this on my record?

Use your smarts Teach, you are WAY in over your head. Hire a criminal defense attorney AT ALL COSTS, otherwise you may end up serving the maximum sentence. Your livelihood depends on it.

Best of luck.
