Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I was recently terminated due to "inconsistent and inadequate peformance". I received no written warnings. Employer states I received several verbal warnings and coaching periods. They state I specifically did not peform duties as requested. However, I did perform duties to the best of my ability. The employer consistently changed the priorities of my work responsibilties. In fact, about two weeks prior to my termination, a MAJOR priority shifted gears for the company (a confidential matter), and I was scolded for working on other duties while addressingn that matter. I was told to do NOTHING other than that matter. If my performance was inconsisten, it was only for the reason that my employer was inconsistent in what I was to focus on. I have my appeals hearing coming up. Any advice?

In Georgia you can be fired for no reason unless a contract says otherwise. You said you have a hearing. What sort of hearing is and do you have an employment or union contract? Without that information there's no way to answer you.
