Resigned to avoid being fired

I was being accused of taking money from the job which i have worked for 12 years. I did not take the money. There are others who have access to the money. Can the company press charges without evidence of the money being taken.

Sure, the company can report a theft to the police and provide whatever evidence or information they have. That might or might not lead to charges against whoever the police or DA thinks took it.
