Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
Resigned but stayed on the job
I work at a daycare which has a Ga Pre-K program that is state funded. Sept 2006, I step down from the position after the state got my transcript for my master in Early chidlhood Leadership and Advocacy they felt I had administration classes but not enough teacher courses. My director wanted me to stay on and go into another classroom with another teacher (those classes aren't regulated by the state). I thought about it and resigned giving a 2 week notice. A few days before my last day the owner and the asst. direc were expressing an interest in me staying ....I joked with them said I can contract my services out to them. Then a little while later the Director called me into the office and asked me to stay while I find my niche (a new job)...so I stayed while looking. The problem is it's been 3 months while working and when Thanksgiving came I didn't get paid for the 2 days the school was closed, like everyone else that is off the probationary period. I spoke to the owner who states that I'm part time/temporary ...I beg the differ..I'm still full time getting 40 hours per wk...and if I was temping I would get paid every day like the ones from the agency...she said our relationship changed when I resigned and I'm not an employee

Re: Resigned but stayed on the job
Most of the background is not relevant. Your question concerns whether you are part-time or temp, but you didn't even mention the terms of your compensation, how it is calculated, etc.
