Who is responsible for missing money in cash register at which 4 people are using? Is the employees responsible for returning money out of their own pocket?

The person responsible is obviously the person who took it. How that is handled when the thief cannot be identified is often up to the employer policy. Sometimes the employer will simply terminate everyone.
