Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

retract of employment offer

no contract signed, i was contacted by previous employeer in regards to e-bid job i applied for. I accepted position awaiting e-mail from them to sign letter of intent. didn't receive e-mail so i e-mail them. They e-mailed me back and told me he would send it Wednesday then an hour later another e-mail stating that i was contacted by mistake. I was laid off in 2003 from this company with recall rights that ended Aug.31. They tod me that the e-bid and recall list was combined and that it did no good to e-bid on jobs anyway after i was told to e-bid to get back into the system by this person, which later aplogized for misinforming me. Can an employeer retract a job offer eventhough no contract was signed but i have a voicemail, an e-mail stating the letter was going to be sent. this is a arge aviation company

Re: retract of employment offer

Your post is confusing, and no one here can read the documents or emails. However, generally, without a contract there is no general right to employment just because a job offer is extended. Even if the employee starts the job, they can generally be terminated after 5 minutes for any or no reason (with few exceptions). You had no contract, and that probably answers the question.
