Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

hello was seeking an answer my husband was fired today getting in a dispute with a coworker some conflict was showed in the parking lot but no physical contact when my husband returned to his designated work area the fellow co worker came to him and they switched a few more words,The fellow co worker attacked him and my husband fought back in self defense the two were called into office my the manager and HR officer and both were fired,Is there any helpful advice you could give us,My husband has called and talked to the manager and she says there is nothing she can do even tho it is self defense and even tho there is witnesses.Please help with some info

There is no general right or entitlement to any employment in Georgia and emoloyees can generally be terminated for any or no reason absent a contract or a few types of discrimination not raised in your post. Many employers terminate all parties involved in incidents, rather than take their time and resources in investigating to see what was right or wrong. Your husband's story may be relevant to obtaining unemployment if the employer objects.
