Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
I signed a contract with a trucking company to work for them for 8mos. It should have ended on the 18th of Oct. I tried to go to another company during orientation I was told that they couldn't hire me because I'm still under contract with CRST. They won't release my training info because they say I still have eight days left of driving with them. They won't allow me to come back and finish because they know I'm trying to leave them. I'm currently unemployed because no other company will hire me because they won't release my training info. Now they are saying that I'm obligated to pay them for my training even though I was with the company for the full eight months. Is there any way I can get them to release my info so I can get another job?

It's really a factual determination regarding whether the contract actually expired or not. Have the contract reviewed by a local contract attorney and determine your rights and obligations.
