Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

signed a non compete agreement, in State of Georgia. Only industry I"VE EVER WORKED in, I was fired, and went to work for another company in same industry. I'm being 'demanded' to quit my job, and can't work for ANY business in this industry in any capacity. I didnt get copy of agreement, and I cannot survive with out a job, and in this economy, at 55, and having only worked in 1 industry in my career life, this would be detrimental to my economic survival. DO i have to quit my job, prior to finding an attorney to represent me, and how do i find an attorney to handle this type of case, seems most represent the employer in writing these contracts.

While it is often difficult to enforce a non-compete in Georgia, I would need to read the specific language of the non-compete and the agreement itself in order to determine whether it is enforceable.
