Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
Spouse and I worked for same co. His employment was recently terminated. Apparently, I was also terminated although there has been no communication between myself and employer. Without warning, I lost login access to job related software programs but there was still no communication from employer. I recently received a letter stating "On Jan.X, your employment with X and X ended. As you know, X has offered you a xxx.xx separation package in exchange for a release of all claims" with an Employee Separation and Release Agreement which I have not signed yet. While kind of the co. to offer a small severance, it is not my primary concern. Does at will employment also mean no communication necessary when terminated employment? Is this legal or could it be considered discriminatory?

You are entitled to a separation notice, which the GA Dept of Labor will assist you in getting if you have not received one. If you are really trying to ask whether you can get a big check for a "discrimination" claim because you did not get paperwork, no.
