Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Statute of limitations

i was attacked at work by an employee at the time in June of last year...I contacted a lawyer about filing a possible lawsuit against the company because there was not a manager on duty the manager that was supposed to be there traded with an employee because he had something to do that morning and was to be an hour late...When the person attacked me i was attacked with a metal square sign holder and kicked and punched on the ground and no one got the person off of me...when it was over i ran and called the police...the police arrived and took statements and filed charges of aggravated assault and simple battery i just received a letter in the mail today that states that after indictment the grand jury found that their was sufficient evidence to take the case to superior court and that there would soon be an arraignment held for the accused to file a plea....my question is...is it too late to file suit against the company for allowing this to happen to me and being negligent therefore such a thing was able to occur

Re: Statute of limitations

You said you contacted a lawyer. Ask him or her, or see another one. They'll go into detail about why you'll have to show a whole lot more than in your post to hold the company liable for the criminal conduct of a person.
