Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Unlawful Termination

DO I HAVE A LEGITIMATE COMPLAINT TO FILE WITH EEOC FOR THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS?

I worked for a company for less than 90 days with no written evaluation in my employee file. I received no written ''warnings'' about performance being poor and have 32 leases sold in that period which is very good. A new Manager is hired and tells me within 1 1/2 weeks of being my Manager that she is moving me to a slower-paced property.

I refused and wrote a letter of complaint to the Human Resources Dept. The next week she continued to tell me I needed to go to a slower-paced property. She had a meeting the next week on a Wed and said we had to do a couple of new procedures. The following Monday, the Manager told me I did not do these things and fired me.

Re: Unlawful Termination

If you want a specific response, you need to see a lawyer to review the whole case. However, generally employment is "at will" and you can be fired for any reason, or no reason (but for race, age, gender...). You don't provide any facts or reasons why you think the firing was unlawful. Refusing to follow an employer's instructions is one good way to get fired.
