Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
Verbal Notice of Resignation
I had given my employer verbal notice that I would puruse other
positions outside of the company. I changed my mind, having
never given written notice, my employer said that they had already
hired my replacement and decided to end my employment
immediately. I refused to agree. I felt that I was actually laid off to
hire two people as replacements, due to other conversations. I
was told that I could be terminated, which was later recanted. I
was never given written explanation or any other paperwork in this
process. Is this right, legal?

Re: Verbal Notice of Resignation
Unless you a have an employment contract to the contrary, there is not requirement that your termination be in writing.
