Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
My wife has worked for a publicly traded company for over 5 years. A new CEO has come in and is verbally abusive as far as calling her a stupid, fat bitch and also calling her a mother fucker among other things. She also had 2 weeks of vacation scheduled to get married and weeks before he told her not to take it but we already had not only wedding plans out of town but also a honeymoon set up. He said she would pay for not being at work and he has help up that promise by daily verbal abuse. I would love for her to quit but we just bought a house before he took over and it requires both our incomes and new jobs are few to come across. Now it seems her office is being moved next to his and she is in fear that she can no longer stay in the job since there office will be in a secluded corridor where she will not feel safe. There will only be the CEO and 2 other women back there.
We are now trying to get her counseling and she even mentioned hurting herself last night. I am working on getting help for her now.
Is there any action we can take against him?

Title VII of the Civil rights Act prohibits discrimination against an individual and applies to businesses with 15 or more employees. At least some of the insults the CEO has directed at your wife appear to be based on her sex. It is clear that the CEO has created an intimidating and hostile work environment for your wife due to her sex. Therefore, your wife should contact an attorney to discuss how to proceed with a Title VII claim and what her chances of success are.
Pursuing a claim is a long and complicated process but it appears your wife has a solid case. If your wife would like to discuss her options in greater detail, please give me a call.
Your issue is beyond this forum. Ask lawyers you know for a referral to a qualified, experienced employment lawyer.
Yes, you should immediately file an EEOC charge against this nut on the basis of gender. Go to 100 Alabama St., SW, Atlanta, GA 30303, Ste. 4R30. The EEOC will send the charge to the company and it should get the guy off your wife's back. If he retaliates and fires her then call an employment attorney like myself. www.georgiaunemploymentlawyer.com
