if you work for a company that paid cash for 2 plus years can u file for unemployment wen being fired for no apparent reason

You can try to file for unemployment, but there are two problems. One, your employer probably didn't pay unemployment insurance for you. Two, if your employer didn't deduct state and federal income taxes, and you didn't pay those taxes, you may open yourself to penalties, interest, and back taxes.

Before filing a claim, you should seek a free or low cost consultation with an attorney in his or her office. The attorney will discuss your employment and review your tax information. The attorney will inform you further about your rights and the benefits and risks of filing a claim.

Yes, as long as you can prove that you received compensation for work. This can even be done by testimony. I am assuming that you were an employee, rather than a true independent contractor. Go ahead and file with your closest unemployment office. The prior lawyer DOES bring up an important point and that is hopefully that you did file proper tax returns.
