Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

i work at my local county jail and am employeed by the board of commissioners, i was told toady that if i do not work my off day saturday that i will be fired is that right?

No one here knows your terms of employment. Do you have a contract that states you can only work certain days, or are you like the overwhelming majority of employees and are expected to follow the wishes of your employer? If you are unable to work on your employer's schedule, they might find someone who will.
