Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
I work for a newspaper co. in Georgia and deliver the newspaper as a subcontractor. (1099) (7 days per week, no days off) I make about $25 per day delivering for a few hours. Employer says if I miss a day I am docked $75 for that day. my question is.... Is it leagal for them to dock me for more than the time missed? I can understand not being paid for the day I missed but how can they take away 2 days pay that I have already earned?

They've set their terms, which they have a right to do. You have a right as a subcontractor to accept or decline the terms. If you dislike the terms, you should quit.
