Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

I have worked with this guy for at least 5 months. I needed a job to support my family so i took the job even though it was under the table. Everything was fine til recently. he just did not call me in to work and it went on for about 2 weeks. so I had a feeling like he was going to work and making up excuses that there aren't any work. I went into the shop and saw his stuff there. he was gone for lunch. I was so mad but i kept my cool. I took my invoice pad (which i paid for) and a buffer (his) because I needed some kind of collateral so he'll give me my last pay. Now he is saying that he will turn in a police report that i have stolen his buffer and because i worked under the table, i have no way of getting out of the charges. he's refusing to give me my last pay. what should i do? are there any laws that protects me?

Think about it. You have admitted in your post to committing a felony (tax fraud) and a theft. You are a criminal. You can go to jail in state and federal court. While returning the item doesn't change that, you have no wayu to get your pay without going into court and admitting to multiple crimes. Give the man his property. And from now on, do things legally.

Also, report yiour under the table earnings on your next tax return.
