Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Wrongful pay role deductions

The company I work for is currently taking pay role deductions for an item that was stolen due to me not following proper procedures. I agreed to the deductions at a union hearing. To my knowledge the stolen item has not been recovered,or the stolen item was not claimed on insurance. What action can I take to find out if the stolen item was recovered or if insurance paided for the item, either to my company or the company which the item belonged to . I feel the company took the easy route by forcing me to pay instead of going after the person or persons who stole the item

Re: Wrongful pay role deductions

There was a union hearing, and you say you agreed to pay. No one here can possibly know what else came out of that hearing, including the employer's obligations, if any. Ask the union rep.
