Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Wrongful Termination

I Found out I was terminated this morning 11/21/2008 because I didn't show up to work yesterday. I showed my manager documentation a week before hand and my supervisor paper work showing that I had to go to court and meet with my probation officer. I came back today and they told me I was fired for a no call no show. I showed them documentation for where I was at court and they still told me I was fired. They new ahead of time that I had court and they fired me still. This is not the first time they have fired me for this same situation. The first time they hired me back on and now they're saying that I can't work there anymore.

Re: Wrongful Termination

Without a contract stating otherwise, employment is generally "at will" and an employee can be terminated for any or no reason (with very few exceptions based on discrimination). The employee has the similar right of being able to quit at any time.
