Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia
Wrongful Termination
Last Monday I was fired from my job for not attending church the previous day. I never promised to attend their church, and I feel that my civil rights were violated. I also had signed a year contract with my employer as a subcontractor. In addition, I was financing a car through my employer. I was added to the insurance and kept receipts of my payments (which were current) The same day of my termination they came to my home and repossed my vehicle. Stating that I can't afford it without a job. What legal resource do I have in this situation?

Re: Wrongful Termination
Are you saying that the reason for your termination was that you did not attend their favorite church or that you worked for a church and failed to attend? The former may very well be illegal, while the latter may not be. You also said that you were a subcontractor. Were you an employee or an independent contractor? The answer to that question will have a significant impact on your situation and legal rights. The repossession of your vehicle also smells fishy.
