Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

wrongful termination?

I was terminated from our local 911 center for ''excessive'' write ups and oral warnings. However I was never made aware of these write ups or warnings nor is my signature on them. I have requested my personnel file and been told NO twice. is there any type of lawsuit that is there? and what is the statute of limitations in Georgia?

Re: wrongful termination?

Most employment is "at will" - meaning you can be fired for any reason (other than race, gender, age) or no reason, "fair" or not. On the flip side, obviously, employees can quit at any moment. The exception to "at will" employment is where you have a contract, or there are rules in place (such as in an employee handbook) that provide more protection to employees.
