Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
30 days to leave the residence?
My fiance and I are living with his mom and she kicked us out the other day. I have been staying here for 5 months and my fiance has stayed here longer than that. We use to work at a Waffle House and we gave her all the money we made. I want to know if we have a legal right to a 30 day notice. Can she just kick us out at the drop of a hat?

Re: 30 days to leave the residence?
Probably not. It would depend on whether you and your fianc were guests or tenants. If you were paying rent, you would most likely be considered tenants and, therefore, she would have to evict you through the courts.
