Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

My apartment complex just auto renewed my lease for another year, despite knowing that I did not wish to renew. I had emailed them a 60 day notice but they came back saying they could not accept it because it was not signed. I verbally told them several times and through email that I did not wish to renew. I turned in a written and signed 60 day letter dated Oct 31,2014, which they said they could not honor because they didn't get it before Nov. 1st...(they were aware that I was out of town on business). Is there anyway I can legally make them accept the notice?

One, what exactly does the lease require? Two, did you comply with the terms of the lease? That is your answer, and we don't know what the lease says.
