Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia
My apartment was recently robbed. The lady below me noticed men climbing into my apartment and informed the leasing office of the occurrence. However, the leasing office failed to inform me or call the police but had their courtesy officer to survey the area (not inside my apartment). Due to events, I would like to break my lease because one of the the young men who was seen climbing into my apartment lives in an adjacent building with his parents. Should I have to pay termination fees due to the apartment compromising my safety by not informing me that someone was climbing into my apartment as well as the young man still being able to reside in the complex which I have to see daily? In the lease, the apartment complex states that it does not provide security, yet they have a courtesy officer.

Generally, a tenant has no right to terminate a lease because of the illegal activity of third-parties unless the landlord/management was actively involved.
