Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Bad Room mate

My girlfriend and i rent an appartment with one other person who is our room mate, upon moving into the apartment, the room mate began to make unwelcome advances towards me. This has sparked some tensions between the three of us, she is always starting arguments with my girl friend over little things like dishes, and blowing them out of proportion, to the point that my girl friend is basicaly walking on egg shells around her so that she doesnt anger her. Recently, the drama increased when the room mate said the following to me. ''I have a bottle of poison in my room, i just dont have the balls to take it.'' This little drama has been going on for about one month now, with no real end in sight.

The problem is, all three of our names are on the lease, so an eviction would be very difficult, if even possible i think.

My Question to you is this. Is there a way to have this room mate lawfully removed from the apartment, even though her name is on the lease, based on her behavior towards my girlfriend and myself?

Re: Bad Room mate

The daily events are not important. This is the risk you took when entering into the lease. You have no more right to have her "removed" than she has to have you or the other person "removed." Further, even attempting something like that might get all of you evicted since the landlord is not going to deal with this spat. Deal with it until the end of the lease, offer to pay her to move (with the landlord's consent to release her), or agree to terminate the lease early and move (with you two probably paying the fee) if it is allowed.
